New carpet ripples

Had a new carpet fitted in May, paid well over 1000 for it, so not some cheap thing! Noticed today that there are patches where it doesn't lay flat, they look almost like a ripple. I tried to take a picture but it's not clear. Was wondering if this is normal? If not is it something I can fix myself or should I go to the shop? Lots of stuff online implies it could be heat related so should I wait until this weather passes and then check again?

I would raise it with the shop you bought it from. Someone will need to take a look. See what they have to say. Don't suggest what the cause might be yourself.

It might need re stretching, I would go back to whoever fitted it and get them to come back.
I had a similar problem and wasn't happy. They came out and stretched it in places. It wasn't great in my opinion but has flattened over time apart from on the stairs where it still seems a bit 'baggy' to me.

It sounds like a fitting problem - it hasn't been properly stretched. Call the shop and get them back. If you leave it it will wear badly and look shit quickly.

Thanks all, thought it was probably off. Will call tomorrow and get someone to look at it
