Buyer pulled out

So upset at the mo, just heard our buyer has pulled out and we may lose the house we have offered on. So annoying as all surveys had been completed and it was looking like a move at the end of August.

Bloody loved the house we'd offered on too, and the thought of losing it makes me want to cry.

Any positive stories of when this has happened to others, I'm feeling very negative at the mo.

Our first buyer messed us around and eventually pulled out. House went straight back on and we had quite a few viewings straight away. We had 3 offers within the week and ended up with buyers in a much better position. Luckily, we were buying a new build so had a bit of time to play with anyway as the house wasn't ready but the people you're buying from would probably prefer to wait for you than to start all over again themselves.

thing is even if they get new buyer there is no guarantee that this wont happen to them! At least - you can say - you are serious & you have part of the paperwork done. Several years ago this happened to us 3 times! first couldn't get mortgage, 2 changed mind I think if I remember the first couldn't get mortgage either - the next person came in once never came back for second visit but purchase was straightforward -we have been living in our new (ish!) house quite happily for some time so here hoping it will all be sorted out quickly - just make sure they have sold property (under offer)! & if estate agent says cash buy make sure he means it!

Our viewing for today has just cancelled. Apparently he drove down the street and decided it wasn't for him. Didn't even entertain the idea of coming in! FFS!! I've spent the last hour cleaning and tidying too!

I hate it when that happens!
Have you got any viewings lined up this weekend? Nothing happening with ours.

Littlepig8834 · 06/07/2018 21:16

6oclock one tomorrow, potentially thinking of reducing price to see if that brings about any interest.

Fingers crossed you get something soon 🤞

Salem boat as well! Sending Flowers

GinUnicorn · 06/07/2018 22:09

Sorry same boat not Salem!

Littlepig8834 · 09/07/2018 10:05

Gin fingers crossed you'll get something soon and we'll all be out of this crappy boat.

We're thinking of reducing our price to see if that increases interest, it's just such a bad time of year to sell a house as most people are gearing up for holidays!

Fingers crossed for all that we have good news sooner rather than later!!

What do you think it may be that is preventing your house from selling?

MummyMather2 · 09/07/2018 15:51

Sorry to jump on the thread but the same thing happened to us the other week too!
Our buyer was using money from their divorce to pay then their partner all of a sudden decided to give them less in their settlement (unknown reason!)
We rushed everything for them and even took the house off the market after 4 days last time, so didn't give lots of people chance to come view it (it was may bank holiday weekend and we took it off on the Monday)
We've put it back on the market and not had anywhere near as much interest (although our estate agents have marketed it for more as we sold it for quite a bit over last time) which I reckon is the main reason this time.
The people we are buying from are OK to wait (for now) but it too is like a dream house for us.
Such a bummer. Hope you sort yours quickly too.

Littlepig8834 · 09/07/2018 17:26

Fabulous don't think there is anything in particular, we had a lot of interest when we first put on the market and accepted the original offer within 2 weeks of it being on. It's just that we've had over 4 weeks when people thought it was sold so we've lost potential buyers and this is not a good time of year to sell. Spoke to EA and they don't think there is anymore we can do to improve the house, will just have to wait and hope for the best.

Mummy it's so annoying isn't it. I think I've been through every emotion this past week!

Littlepig8834 I hope you sell soon, but as you say, the market now goes dead until the autumn. Maybe things will pick up then, or failing that, in the spring.

Littlepig8834 · 09/07/2018 18:46

Thanks Fabulous. Autumn/Spring will be too late in regards to the house we've offered on, but what'll be will be. I had a go on the lottery for tomorrow, just in case miracles do happen!!
