Shared Ownership Deposit

Having recently split with my partner of 8 years have been trying to look forward and sort my life out.

Have been to see a shared ownership property which is perfect but am now not sure it’s affordable as have been advised by Habito that due to it being new build I’d need a 10% deposit rather than the usual 5%

There is so much conflicting info online and all banks seem to only have v limited info on their websites... can anyone confirm that 10% is correct?

Hello, that’s not necessarily the case. You can absolutely get a Shared Ownership new build mortgage with 5% deposit. Sometimes your personal circumstances mean you need 10% (or a shorter lease which won’t be the case for a new build).
