Hi All, we are buying a holiday cottage in Yorkshire (no gas) and it's got an oil boiler in a cupboard in the bathroom. It's actually a newly installed boiler. Issue is that we want to swap the existing bathroom with one of the existing small bedrooms (as the bathroom is big and we want the space for a bedroom!). I don't fancy having a boiler in the bedroom. So- could you give me your thoughts on oil fired external boilers? Are they more likely to go wrong than internal boilers due to exposure to the elements etc? Also the cottage is going to be empty for periods of a few weeks at a time so will that be more of an issue with an external boiler? I'm thinking combi so we can do away with the hot water tank that's in the current bathroom as well. Thoughts much appreciated!
