To rip out old kitchen, remove non-condensing bearing wall, make good ceilings / walls after wall removal, install 9 cupboard kitchen and appliances, install oven / hob / extractor / dishwasher, and electrics to include extra plugs, lights etc.
4.3k, in South Wales? I have absolutely no idea.

No idea about Wales, but I’m in London and I’d bite their bloody hand off!

We are in Yorkshire and paid approx £5k for the same as you, but that also included all tiling to floor and walls, and levelling the floor (is Victorian so tiled floor was lower at all edges for the water to run off into grates)

You could get another quote but I wouldn't think you'd get cheaper!

Yes this is a good price. I take it they're not vat registered? I'm in Scotland and husband is a kitchen fitter.
Work it out into days. It's a weeks work with maybe 2 people. Electrical materials are expensive. Take away 20% tax and you're getting a bargain.

Thanks for the speedy responses!
This is the first time I've ever had big work done and I'm a bit clueless, but yes the day rate thing makes sense, I guess carpenter + apprentice, plus electrician for a few days, all adds up.

The electrician is a big expense for us. Also, I had no idea how expensive plumbing supplies are. It's about £120 for the materials to plumb in a sink. It was only when I was going through our receipts, I got a shock.

That's a bargain. My mum is in South Wales and her kitchen needs doing, so if you are willing to share the details of who is doing the work...
