So we currently live in a 3 bed semi and are thinking of moving to detached with 4 bed / garage potential etc . We have a flat in London that we rent out and would sell that to finance . Keep veering between extending ( we can’t do as much as We’d like as in green belt) and keeping the flat and moving ! Any advice ?

Price each option up and take it from there.

We are in a similarish situation. Flat in London. We've decided it's wiser at present not to sell it. Long term we don't think we will sell it either as it's more likely to increase in value and it's a safety net

I suppose what I am saying is keep the flat if you can.

I would go for the extra space if i could. Weve had to downsize from a 4 bed detached to a 3 bed and still struggling!!!

We’re in a similar situation.
Our plan is to live in the house for a year or so to make sure we’re happy in it and like the area (we already live round the corner so should be fine!) and thatDD is happy when she starts school, then we’ll start thinking about the extension and release the capital.
When we extended here it really helped that we’d lived in the house for a bit so had a feel for how the rooms worked, where the light was etc etc
