Anyone else struggling to actually complete?

I feel jinxed.

We have been trying to move for about 3 years now. We have been getting increasingly desperate as we need more bedrooms for our growing family.

Our first attempt went on for 8/9 months before we lost the top end of the chain and then we decided to just sell ours and move into renting so we could keep the rest of the chain, before we then lost the bottom end too.

Then we decided to avoid a chain and buy a smaller house than we had hoped for, but still a jump up on what we had now. They accepted our offer and then a month later changed their minds.

We then tried to buy another house chain free again but in the searches found they were planning to build 300 houses out the back so unfortunately had to pull out.

Now we have found another house and it's taken 4 months to find out that this vendor is pulling out too as she decided she no longer wants to move to a retirement home!

Meanwhile we have had to sign kids up for new nurseries and schools etc.

I've seriously lost the will to keep going with this now. Is this normal at the moment that no one actually wants to sell??

I am thinking we will just have to rent now as I can't go through this all again! It's so disappointing each time.

Hugs to you. This whole process is stressful even in good case and unfortunately you got caught into wrong chains/houses. Be positive, there is something better out there and you will get it. It is just matter of time.

The system of house sales in the U.K. really is such a tough one! I don’t know how anyone does it with the huge chains involved. You’ve had some really bad luck.
