Bath sealant....any tips?

I need to reseal around the bath,is this a difficult job?!I don't want to mess it up.
Pass me your top tips if you have any please!

Patience when getting it all out, and these when putting it back in! Sealant is horrid stuff and I wear a pair of disposable gloves when I have to do it!

Make sure there is no seal left.

Fill your bath up full before you seal.

Apply the seal, wet your finger and run your finger over the seal. Keep wetting your finger as you go.

Use masking tape either side of where you want to seal for a clean edge. Use a proper sealant gun, not a tube of sealant you operate by hand - much better. Wrap the sealant tube in parcel or duct tape as this helps it keep its shape and means the sealant comes out more smoothly.

Yes I have done this horrible job a few times.

Took ages to get the old stuff of,just filling the bath now.

If you're going for a silicone-based sealant then put a lot of detergent in that (hot) bath. Wetting finger with hot detergent solution is much better than plain water.
