I am trying to choose new appliances without spending an absolute fortune. We currently have a ceramic hob but have been told that I should get an induction hob. Is it worth the extra cost of replacing all my pans?

You might not need to replace your pans - if they are magnetic (test the bases) they'll be fine. Aluminium won't work. Induction is well worth it imo. Much, much quicker than an electric ceramic hob and therefore more energy efficient.

I'm considering going induction. I always had gas until I moved to a village with no gas and I want keen on lpg.

Many years later I still get infuriated at my very expensive ceramic double electric oven jobby. After reading reviews on here and online, I'm thinking of buying just not sure which one yet.

I’m looking at induction as well. But I think that we need to do something to the electrics which might bump the price up.
