has anyone had their staircase replaced?

either with a fancy one or with a standard replacement? I can't get anyone to do it for love or money. We are thinking about neville johnson now as at least they will do it.

Could anyone let me know how much theirs cost and who from?

All spindles are broken so it isnt exactly safe at the mo

Following with interest as we will have to do this soon. I mentioned it to our joiner who said they'd be interested in the work so expect we will go with them when the time comes!

Local builders merchants quoted around £600 but then our builder pointed us at a local firm who produced one for the same price. Two days for the carpenter to install. Simple straight run but not as steep as the stairs being replaced which is what took the extra day of fitting.

Should add this was in MDF as we're going to carpet it.
