Help me find a replacement worktop please!

The saga of my kitchen continues... briefly a water leak means my kitchen has been ripped out. Cupboards are fine and will go back when walls are dry but the worktop and upstands will need to be replaced. This is all covered by insurance thankfully.

Originally it was intended to match this with existing worktop on the other side but the builders say they can't find a match...If I can't find one then all worktop will have to be replaced (and I have to pay 50% of the extra cost).

I have looked but I can't find anything the same. Either the worktop edge doesn't match (mine is rolled) or you can't get a matching upstand.

Alternatively do I sack it off and go for a full replacement?

If I do, what do you think would match? Pic attached of the remaining kitchen...walls are all cream atm but I was considering redecorating before this as it hasn't been done for nearly 10 years so is due an update!

@VelvetSpoon - there's no picture. Have checked the app and there's nothing there either.

have you checked savoytimber website? they have laminate worktops. I am assuming yours is laminate one?

In your photo there is a overhang at the end of the run. If you kneel down, can you see anything printed on the underside?

I doubt it will tell you the colour but might well have the name of the manufacturer so you will have a starting point. You could perhaps send them a photo to see if it is a current pattern.

It is laminate yes.

We got it from Wickes many years ago. They don't do anything similar now. My insurers suggested Howdens but I can't find anything there either, the only designs with upstands to match are very different.

I will try savoytimber.

Have a look at Egger and catalogue here

They will send you a few samples free. Retailers will charge you about a pound each.

I suspect it will be easiest to just replace the lot with a current worktop. If you can find a trusted chippy by personal recommendation, and look at a sample of their work, it is not difficult or complicated to remove and fit a laminate worktop and splashback. You need skill, and some really good cutting tools.
