Hallway storage for coats etc. Pax?

Does anyone have a shallow pax in their hallway?

I think it would just about fit but would block the narrow window at the side of the front door.

Would I be better off with hooks and a shoe bench?

Wouldn't block the indie as much though?

The hallway is a disaster at the moment and I'm embarrassed to open the front door!

Which would you prefer or does anyone have any other ideas? Space is limited. Tia.

We did it and built it in with MDF all the way up to the ceiling - sliding gloss white doors, looks fab and hides alllll the rubbish!

Cars just died so bigger things to stress about. But I do like the idea of it being all hidden behind a door

Go for the pinit option especially if you have a period house. The Pax, unless in an alcove would look at bit cheap and boxy (and I have them in all my bedrooms so I do think they are great)

Meant to say, only seasonal coats out. Put the rest away in a wardrobe/box so there aren't so many.

I love the Pinterest option. But am worried it will look a mess (we are a messy trio). I could insist on only putting one coat out each...but how long would that last?!

I have hooks and a bench. I wouldn't want to put damp/wet coats and shoes inside a wardrobe.

… hooks are better for guests' coats too. IMO.

Try the pinit option and if the mess annoys you, you could put a curtain across the front to be drawn when visitors come?
