Part exchange experiences?

Dh and I are thinking of doing a part exchange with Avant for one of their new homes in our area, sounds pretty straight forward but looking for anyone to share their experiences?

It says here in Scotland they'd get a local estate agent out to value and give you the difference between that and the home report valuation. Sounds ideal, we have a decent amount of equity but obviously don't want less than a few grand below market value. Is there any negotiating room if it leaves us hard pushed?

Also we'dbe looking at a popular plot so would want to hold the plot the day of its release, does that sound do-able?

Tia Thanks

We’re on Scotland too and did part ex recently. It was basically the same they got 2 agents to value the house and we got a couple of thousand under the valuation price. We negotiated their initial offer up a few thousand but didn’t really have to try hard so think that was all par to the game and they expect it.
In terms of reservation they had ours listed as reserved while we got the valuations done which took about a week-wnelaid the reservation fee once we accepted the part ex valuation but they said they wouldn’t off the pot to anyone else in that time.
Our house was ready to go almost (someone had pulled out) so it was 8 weeks for seeing it to moving and was really simple process.

We looked into this, we had 3 estate agents round to value our house but they all valued it about £20k less than it was worth. We decided to sell it ourselves and have got what it was worth, more hassle but worth it for us.
