We have just moved into a new house and are completely redecorating it. I am 38 weeks pregnant so time is seriously limited and budget is very limited too.
I was hoping that when we ripped the carpets up it would reveal nice floorboards but they aren’t that great. I love wooden floors and ideally that’s what I was wanting for our bedroom and sitting room. My grandmother has very kindly offered to buy us a carpet for the sitting room and I am trying to decide whether to go for it or not. Our style is sort of Scandi but the property is Victorian with all the origanal features. Walls are now painted light greys or whites. New solid wood flooring is out of budget at the moment. Do we go for carpet? Laminate? Try to do something with the floorboards? I’m stuck! Please help!

Get the carpet. You can always replace it when funds allow.

I'd go for carpet because your baby will be mobile in the winter - warm flooring will be nice. I would go for as stain resistant as possible Grin
