Plastering and 5 month old baby

We are having a new kitchen fitted. One wall needs plastering. My boyfriend is at work, so I will have to let the plasterer in and be here whilst he is plastering. I'm getting an oven delivered too, so I shouldn't really leave...

I was planning on closing the kitchen off and having the plasterer use the back door, which is in the kitchen. I have a 5 month old, will she be okay inside the house? Should I leave the house whilst he is working? I don't want her breathing in any fumes and dust. How long before it is safe?

She’ll be fine no fumes

It'll be fine. We had most of our house plastered over the course of my daughter's first year. If you close the kitchen off then it'll be totally fine. You'd want to avoid the dust getting in the rest of the house anyway, it's a PITA to clean up!

you'll be fine being in the house when someone is plastering. ask them to mix outside. we have done up a house and taken (unintentionally) walls back to brick when removing kitchen cabinets. we also had an extension where there was a lod of knock walls out etc. this was when i was a sahm with a 9 month old. keep doors closed and put old towels under the doors if any gaps. it is messy work and a fine dust will move but honestly, your whole house won't be covered.
