What colour paint for living room?

It needs to go with a brown leather chair and a vintage reddish/purply/heathery sofa with random bits of earthy colours in the design (Tetrad type) and ethnic/quirky wooden tables/small cupboards which are dark wood, natural real wood floor (light but not bleached look).

Windows are south-ish facing and bowed with not much wall on that side as the windows take it all. I hate brown and beige and don't want anything dark and no feature wall. Light as possible?

I'd go with white, clean and crisp.

how about a golden sandstone neutral colour? Or a grassy colour, veyr pale yellow with a hint of green to it? Both are neutrals that have a warmer resonance with the changing light than the horrible greys that are everywhere these days.

overmydeadbody I was thinking about a white but then there are millions of whites so next question is which white and no I don't want Timeless it has a yellow tinge Grin. I always go for white.

MinaPaws A very light grassy green sounds nice, had thought of a pale sage but not sure it would work. Not yellow of any kind, the floor is yellow tinged and is a nice shade of well, wood, but any kind of yellow tinge is out.

Problem is I love blue (hate grey) and love the sofa which might be OK with a very pale blue but the damn brown chair won't and it has to stay.
