sequencing - paint / floors

We’re renovating part of our house, have stripped out all flooring and wallpaper. Had some rewiring done and have just booked a plasterer. We’re going to get someone to install engineered wood flooring and we’re planning on painting ourselves. Does the sequence of the last two matter? Any advantages of doing the one before the other? All advice gratefully received!

Paint first and flooring last

I would paint first.
You can always touch up afterwards.
Doing the flooring first will mean having to completely cover over the new flooring when painting.

prepare the skirting in advance, but only fix it after the flooring is down
