Oven element - easy?!

Hi.

I have only ever done basic DIY stuff. Our oven isn’t heating, after a quick google and nosey around in there, it is the element that needs replacing. Watched a video and it looks pretty straight forward to do myself. Is it worth giving it a go or could I properly mess it up?! Is it really that easy??? Thanks!

DH and I did ours just before Christmas. Well DH did it and I drank wine. But I could have done it. He said it was really easy.

yes have done it on our oven several times (it’s ancient). Order the part from espares or wherever, YouTube for a video and bobs your uncle.

Super easy.

Did mine a few months back and cost me a grand total of £17.99 for the new element and took about 15 minutes.

DH has replaced ours a couple of times. The part only cost about £30.

It's very straightforward, just make sure you make a note of what wire connects to what before you do it & obviously turn off the electricity at the mains. Also the oven might be heavy - ours took two of us to lift out & put back in. Other than that, it's a simple job.
