Nationwide Mortgage

Hi all,

has anyone recently gone through the mortgage process with Nationwide?

Our application was submitted by our broker a week ago and valuation carried out on the same day, they chased nationwide 2 days later and they said they had received the valuation and our broker said it should be a few working days and we'll get an offer.

Today we received a text from Nationwide saying that they have our valuation?! How much longer will we wait from this point?

Going out of my mind....................

Thanks

Hi. Yes I have. Very recently! Here are my dates:

26th April - visited local branch and submitted full mortgage application (got DIP at same time - im already a nationwide mortgage customer plus have other accounts with them)

3rd May - received text saying application had been received

4th May - text received saying valuation had been booked for 11/05

11th May - text received saying they'd received the valuation report

15th May - email and text received saying mortgage offer was on its way.

I went to them direct as a current customer so think this helped with things moving quickly.

I have been through Nationwide mortgage via broker at end of Feb 2018. I got a text on the day of the survey saying they had the valuation then literally 2 mins later a text to say the mortgage offer had been issued. It was another week or so before the offer actually arrived in the post but I believe the whole process is just down to how busy they are and how quickly the surveyor get back to them!

Mumsnet is the absolute worst place for you to be spending any time if you are anxious about mortgage offers, made me feel like I was completely fucked and didn't have a hope in hell but I breezed through in my first application on a house at the very top of my affordability so just distract yourself and stay off forums!

Remember, people are always more likely to share negative experiences than positive ones.

It will all be fine!

PS, I went through a broker too

I got a text to say they had our valuation and then a mortgage offer text immediately after.

NotAnotherUserName5 · 16/05/2018 18:44

Pressed post too soon.

So your offer shouldn't be long.

We have. Went direct to Nationwide as we are current customers. Here’s our dates
12 April - met in branch, did all the application and evidence stuff and got AIP that day,
25 April Vaulation done
8 May Was told offer had been issued
11 May offer received by us and our solicitor.

So exactly a month from when application submitted to receiving the offer. Felt like forever but our solicitor said Nationwide are one of the quicker ones!

OnePotato · 16/05/2018 21:49

DIP (decision in principle). AIP was typo sorry!

NotARegularMum · 17/05/2018 16:59

I had my survey and valuation on the 10th of May.
I received my mortgage offer on the 15th of May via email. Still no posted copy.

Hope that helps.

(went through a broker)
