How long

Just curious really. I'm in a small chain, our buyers have sold to FTB and our purchase is chain free. Our survey on our purchase is next Wednesday, our house being surveyed this Thursday. Everyone's mortgage sorted subject to survey. How long does completion take assuming all surveys are okay?!

It will depend on what the surveys throw up. If they are all good, you can exchange pretty quickly and complete a week later. If the surveys are not good and there are expensive remedies needed, be prepared for negotiations and a delay. Are all the searches back with the solicitors? I assume they are ok too.

depends on searches too - councils can take ages.

completion date is as agreed between all concerned and should be at least two weeks after exchange unless you really want to make life ultra difficult and far more expensive.

We are in the same boat and same stage as you OP! Ours all seems to have gone quiet and I can't bear it! I just want to get moved!

No one will even talk about exchange/completion date..... I need to plan it and get time off work!
