Water dripping into flat below

My neighbour has just come to say that water is dripping into their flat. The external stopcock has been turned off and the system in my flat has been drained.

The plumber is coming tomorrow but should it still be dripping lots?

water often lies on the upper surface of the ceiling and drips through slowly. I recommend puncturing it in a few places with a skewer and letting it run into a bucket. The drip may be nowhere near the leak.

It's very easy to fill and paint a skewer-sized hole once dry. Much harder and more expensive to repair a saggy ceiling.

Would that mean water would still be dripping through even though the source has been turned off?

I've known it last for more than a week.
