Remortgage survey advice please

We have decided to stay where we are and remortgage to do a few big jobs to improve our current house. The lender are doing the valuation survey later this week - is there anything we need to do to make sure they agree with the estate agent’s valuation?

They are highly unlikely to agree with an EA's valuation. If you're looking for a "high" valuation, perhaps have the EA's paperwork, plus details of all the comparables that the EA has used. Also, if you know of houses that have sold in the last couple of months (their details won't be on the Land Registry yet and the surveyor may not be aware of them), if you can get written confirmation from the EAs that dealt with the sales as to what they went for.

Having said that, the surveyors responsibility is to the lender and they may not be interested in any of that.
