Hi everyone

We’re putting our house on the market and the EA is coming over tomorrow to take photos.

Just wondering if anyone had any tips / tricks on how to make the house more ‘appealing’ in the photos.

Declutter as much as you can. You can move things around as the photographer goes along.

Hoover, dust and declutter. Beds made nicely. Also, a bunch of flowers looks lovely

Ask them to not make the house look totally different than it actually is. We have been to see some recently, because they looked amazing in the photos . Pulling up to check them out we have been so amazed at the difference and not even bothered (cancelled before the actual viewing appointment) it’s not fair to the seller or the buyer that’s set up for immediate disappointment. Making driveways / gardens look enormous etc, photoshopping.

Definitely put the toilet seats down. I know it's a small thing but it puts me off.

Iron the bedlinen, make sure it's straight etc.

Remove toiletries from display in bathroom. Ditto bleach next to loo etc.

Clear kitchen surfaces.

Remove stuff like laundry basket - move it around so it's out of shot.

Great tips. Will definitely be using them all.
