Painted kitchens

Anyone know roughly how much it costs to have a kitchen (medium-sized) professionally painted? Is it in the hundreds or thousands?

I suppose it depends what you mean by painted - are you talking about a professional re-spray of some sort of coating, or just ordinary paint out of a tin with a brush?

We had ours done a couple of months ago, pine cabinets, they needed two coats of primer and two of eggshell. They also did the 3 doors, walls and ceiling for about £500 all in (I supplied most of the paint).

Yes it was v cheap!

We had a quote recently to paint a Handmade kitchen, and was quote £7500! That included paint. Needless to say we politely declined.

My builder has said that hand painting or spraying is roughly the same cost - he reckons approx 40 quid per door....

Thanks for the responses. A huge range of prices Shock! Best to go to painter and decorator than a specialist company do you think?

We went with a local decorator recommended by our electrician. They did a lovely job, but our kitchen is made of reclaimed pine units so it suits hand-painting. What kind of cabinet doors do you have?

We've got oak doors but all else - side panels, kick boards and trim - are veneer.

Well a local decorator should be able to handle that. Get some recommendations and ask to see previous work.
