Moving ideas

Hello!

I was hoping for some advice. I currently live in Hertfordshire and would really really like to move. The problem is, I have no idea where. I've lived in the same town pretty much all my life. I have a lot of equity in my property (I think) and am essentially looking for

Three bedrooms
A decent sized garden
Somewhere that has a good reputation for SEN and an SLD school

It would be nice if it had good transport links into London or was near the sea (probably mutually exclusive, I know). I think I would be able to raise something like 250,000/300,000 on my current house.

Any ideas about where I can go?

Not much help but there is a great sld school in Nottingham. Does your child have an EHCP? Might be worth posting this in special needs section too

He does have an EHCP, yes. Thanks, I've also popped this on the SN chat board too

Thorney near Peterborough. Good SEN school, very pretty village, you get a lot for your money and train to London ftpm Peterborough in under an hour.

Thorney looks lovely!

Anyone have any ideas about places near Bristol?

We have moved to Folkestone. It’s a beautiful seaside town with an excellent SEN school here (Google The Beacon). We moved six months ago from London and wish we had done it years ago. It’s idyllic. Cannot recommend it highly enough. And the best bit is, it’s still a relatively cheap place to buy particularly considering it’s less than an hour’s commute to London.

I'm useless with geography, so thank you! I've never really had to do any of this stuff before as my father has handled it and I am desperately trying to move away from my family and be a bit more independent. So, thank you for your input x
