Abingdon/Goring/Wallingford/Witney or somewhere else?

We are moving to Ox and will need a good primary school. We'd like to have access to good country walks and ideally a mainline station. Any ideas?

Didcot is full of housing estates. Abingdon the traffic is terrible, it's gods waiting room. Wallingford is pretty _ what station? Appleford? Witney is ok. Woodstock is nice..... Good luck.

We lived in Chimney on Thames population 5. Nice walks though.

Charlbury's lovely – good primary school and mainline station straight into Paddington (or change at Oxford and take Chiltern line to Marylebone). Wonderful countryside all around.

Cholsey - lovely place to live.

We only need to get into London once a week sometimes less but where in London changes. DS has a place at Abingdon prep so will need to either get him on the bus or drive him there in the mornings. My guess is that Charlbury would be too far?

There's a school bus to Abingdon – picks up several children in Charlbury

I think that's the senior school bus. These are my options for the prep. Any advice on these villages/towns would be most welcome. Goring/Streatley seem to command a premium but I'm winding if it's worth it?
