Non obtrusive (or beautiful) twin ceiling lights ideas please

Just moved into house and sitting room has two ceiling lights (and horrific modern plaster roses which must go). The thing is putting in a 5amp system (to light lamps from the door) is going to be major surgery and already doing too much of that elsewhere. If only I could find some ceiling lights that don't jump out at you. Any ideas for good ceiling lights v v welcome.

We have the Isla lights from Dunelm. They are unobtrusive (DH is very tall so we can't gave anything too dangly) but they are pretty and modern

I've also just removed horrible modern roses in a low ceilinged living room and have replaced with these

Fiddly to fit but take 3 bulbs each, fit flush to the ceiling, and shades are real glass. Another advantage is that they cover the slight damage to the ceiling caused by removing the roses.
It's been a good solution for us and fhey are remarkably cheap.
I wouldn't use these as my main evening lighting though - dim them if possible and use together with floor lamps etc.

thanks grownup2 for the suggestion - will look them up

Whatever lights you choose, make sure they are LED. They cost a little more, but are cheaper in the long run because they use much less electricity and you don't have to keep changing bulbs.

We had our new ones from here. Absolutely thrilled with them (we went for something “scientific” 😉).

Not that one. Link fail. Was eyeing that one up for another room. :)
