Selling in Scotland

How long after 'Date of Entry' is typical to receive the funds? Our purchaser's date of entry was yesterday. We've only ever sold houses in England before, despite being Scottish.

We asked the solicitor doing our conveyancing, but she was a tiny bit evasive as she didn't want to 'make promises' on behalf of her boss - the solicitor and director of the firm who has handled the estate of my late MiL and who will handle the final deduction of their costs and authorise the transfer of funds.

I'd just like to have some idea of typical timescales

If it simply the sale proceeds and not linked to the executry you should get them as soon as the funds clear
It is usual for sale to settle by solicitor’s cheque so safe as effectively guaranteed by the Law society but not cleared
Normal clearance 5 days so you should get £ on Friday/Monday
I normally cover this with clients prior to settlement
Perfectly normal thing to want to know
Phone and ask and if the person you have been dealing with doesn’t know ask to speak to whoever does
