Hello,
We're about to take on a major refurb of a large Victorian terrace. As expected, it needs a rewire, re-plumbing, totally new decor, floors, kitchen, bathrooms etc. We don't have much left in the bank after the purchase, but will quickly top up the savings as luckily we are earning well right now.
Before I go through the pain of getting numerous building firms in to quote that would oversee the whole job, has anyone opted for a more staggered approach, in order to phase the financing? I've just had one quote through for the whole job, and it's sky high, the broken down costs are high compared to a couple of the individual quotes I've had from say, a local electrician.
Any thoughts on what % you'd save doing it through one man bands vs a flashy company?
Thanks,
