What Wall paint to choose?

We are buying a house, almost at exchange of contacts so I'm in full planning mode, house needs a lot of cosmetic work. It's from 83. I'm probably going for light oak floors, Matt lacquer or slightly white washed.
Kitchen will be shaker style in a light coulour,
Whiny everything light and bright with muted colours, what wall colour should I go for as the main colour? Some shade of white? Iv heard of timeless? I'm planning on painting a lot myself. What paints are good quality?
Also iv got 3 kids and I'd love a paint that you can wash stains of easily.

Any recommendations?

I think that Timeless is a very light grey Dulux colour.

Timeless is not grey! It is a very pale off white, not quite cream. It is a lovely colour and will look different in every room depending on what colours you put with it. It's very light and fresh.

Dulux easy care (claimed to be 20 times stronger than normal matt paint and washable). I have found this to be great especially with young children or for rental properties.

Great! I will check out dulux easycare, that sounds great! where do you order colour samples from?
Also would you paint the sealing the same or just the regular white sealing paint?
