Paint these IKEA wardrobe doors without spray painting - possible?

Hi. I bought these doors as part of Ikea's pax wardrobe and i wish to paint only the recessed square part the same colour as my wall-matt emulsion. I'm only painting every other square as the other remaining squares will have adhesive mirror.

I really can't be bothered dont want to spray paint as its only 4 squares.

Will it still look ok if i roller paint emulsion on primer, so long as they are sanded?

Any advice welcome. Thanks

You won't get a decent result using just a roller because of cutting in round the edges of the recess. I'd use satinwood paint, water based is fine, and a decent brush. If you take the doors off and paint them horizontally you should be able to minimise brush marks.

I think chalk paint can be painted onto anything. If you don't want brush marks though you could try some kind of sticky film perhaps?

Thanks. I'll have a think on. I think it will be a nice way of introducing some of the dark colour i had in mind for one of the walls.

I painted all my IKEA doors. Did it horizontally with a brush using matt paint. It looked hand painted so not professional and smooth - but I liked the handpainted look so it worked well.
