Hi
I was wondering if anyone is from the area and can describe what it's like?

Not a nice area

Why do you think that? What is it like? Any advantages of the area? What areas are nice in Bham otherwise? Thanks

Hockley wouldn't be my choice of areas to live. It has high rates of crime, looks very grey and feels typically 'inner-city' without much green, lots of traffic and is next to some other not-so-nice areas (Lozells, Newtown, Handsworth).

Whereabouts in Birmingham do you want to live (e.g. north, south, east, west) and what sort of budget do you have? Do you need to be able to get to somewhere specific (e.g. city centre) for work? There are some nice areas of Birmingham to live in, but a lot of it depends on where you need to be for work/family etc.!

Oooh no, one of the roughest areas of the city. Saying that, the whole place is turning rough. I'd look at Solihull, south of the city.

Same reasons as above , solihull , bournville , sutton coldfield , castle bromwich are desirable family areas , moseley and kings heath are hip with lots of independent businesses so desirable for young couples
