Hello

I've never insured anything other than a car so wondering what kind of questions I'll be asked and what info I'll need to insure my new flat.

Is it possible to call up the current owner's insurance policy and transfer theirs over to me?

My solicitors tell me that i need to make sure the insurance notes my mortgage provider's interest. Does anyone know what this means?

I just go on compare the market and fill out the form, it’s very straightforward then you get a set of quotes. One of the questions will be whether you have a mortgage and who with, which then notes the interest.

I.m FTB too!
I'm waiting for a date of exchange & will then use confused.com like I do for my car to start from exchange date.

I didn't do the link, so that's weird! I'm not advertising!

One of the questions will be - do you have a mortgage?

The questions are much like car insurance.
Name, address, what do you want to insure, how much stuff do you own?
Do you have anything above a certain value or bikes?
All simple stuff.

yes, get quotes now so when you get exchange, you can make one phone call. you will need to know about construction, locks, flood risk, trees, conte nts value, age of building etc etc.
