Bathroom tiles

First time home owners full of stupid questions... sorry about that! Our wonderful bathroom man has asked whether we wanted a splash back of tile above the sink and the shower/bath area to the ceiling. This at first I thought yes that sounds great- but now considering having the two full walls tiled- thoughts? I am truly a novice and will appreciate any wisdom given!

If money is no object, I would go for fully tiled! Just choose your tiles wisely so it doesn't end up looking like a hotel.

I've tiled/had tiled the bathrooms in 2 houses, and both times I've gone for only round the bath and above the sink. This is partly money, partly because I think it looks nicer, and partly that I figure you can change paint more easily than tiles if you fancy something different, and the more paint you have the bigger the effect would be. It is just personal taste though, not sure what the majority view is. Enjoy your new home!

If well ventilated go for part time part paint, if ventilation is not so good would go for fully tiled.
