Our house is up for sale we had some work done on the roof, walls re rendered and new back door and windows. We accepted an offer 3 weeks ago. The solicitor has emailed me today the buyer is asking for 4 things, one of which is a fensa certificate i wasnt sure what one was and googled it and it looks like i should have one for the windows but i don't. I will ring the people who put the windows in tomorrow but what happens if I don't have the certificate?

OP - this is a standard request. If you can get hold of the installer and get the cert, it’s great. If you can’t it’s a ‘nice to have’ but not a dealbreaker for your sale. Good luck with the sale!

There's a central register on the Fensa website - you can get a copy for a fee, it's not very expensive. If there isn't a Fensa certificate, try Certass instead. There may be nothing, in which case your buyers might want an indemnity.
