So we got our integral garage (under a bedroom) converted into a bathroom and bedroom. We didnt need planning permission. But our builders never once mentioned building regs, and they've now finished the job, and I've only just realised that we should have had building regs involved. As it's after the work is finished, we need a certificate of regularisation. We are with-holding the final 25% of the builders payment until the work passes inspection. Hubby is worried that the inspection will require lots of holes and excavations in our new work.
Has anyone been through this process of getting a regularisation certificate, or in a similar situation? Any advice or share your experinces, all welcome, thank you!
