Thinking of moving to Milton Keynes

Hi

We are a Polish family (have been in UK for 13 years), looking to move to Milton Keynes from Kent. We have two toddlers, so would like to find a safe and family friendly area. I work in London, so will need to commute. We have a budget of about £310k. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Many thanks
Agnes

Hi, there was a similar discussion on the Milton Keynes local thread on here a month or two ago with lots of good advice.

The vast majority of MK is safe and family friendly, so you should be fine there. On the last thread, I think it listed lots of areas ('estates') to avoid if poss as they're not as nice. Eg Fisher mead, Netherfield, Bean Hill etc etc.

One thing, and I am massively making assumptions, is to consider what schooling you'd want for your kids. If you're Catholic and wanting Catholic schooling - and some of the junior Catholic schools in MK are very good and very popular - then maybe consider being in a handy location. So for st thomas aquinas, you'd want to be in bletchley or on the west side of mk.
