Hi all, we are planning to put a double socket with USB on one of the end panels of our kitchen island but I can't work our what happens inside, ie where does the backbox to the socket go?

What's on the other side of the panel? If it's a cupboard then you'd cut a hole through and box would sit inside cupboard/panel.
Assuming wires are coming from under the flooring?

Originally we placed the socket on a panel which has drawers behind so that obviously won't work so I'll need to move it to where there is a cupboard behind.

If the wire goes through to the floor presumably this is also seen from inside the cupboard? Are there any back boxes designed specifically for this which are finished accordingly, ie more pleasant to look at if placed where it can be seen?

We used a dry wall socket. The island socket we have backs onto a corner void rather than a cupboard.

You'd just get plastic boxing stuff to cover the cable from the box to the floor.

We have as wanna described but no wires seen at all ..they must be inbetween the backs of the units ..will take a photo in the morning if you like

Here's the inside of the cupboard in my island where the socket is on the end panel.

The wires must run between the cupboard carcass and the end panel.

Thanks all for the feedback, and jigster for the picture, it's not nearly as bad as. I was fearing and not at all protruding into the cupboard.
