Would anybody be willing to share garage conversion costs if youve had a similar project done? I’m not at all clues up about that stuff and really want to sense check quotes!

Project is:

Convert garage to kitchen extension, utility room and toilet. Install new kitchen, all decorating and electrics, obv knock down wall and put up stud walls, brick up opening and install 2 new widows, new back door, plumbing, fire alarms etc, basically the whole shebang! (I’m not including coat of actual kitchen, tiles or any of the building regs cost here).

Thanks!

Hi

We've just had our garage converted (a month ago - in Lincolnshire)

We had it changed into a utility, toilet and playroom. It was already joined onto the kitchen.

Cost of building and plumbing -£8200 (including doors and windows)

Electrics - £1400 (but the electrician had to update quite a few bits)

Then obviously flooring and decoration, although I painted it myself

Hope that helps!

We have a new back door, stud walls, smoke alarm, didn't need building regs

Ah ok so we need ours knocking through which I believe hikes up the cost a fair bit, but that seems to make sense if I add on ££ for that and then Kitchen fitting etc...such a minefield and I am literally the worst at diy 🙈 thank you for the info!

No worries!

I'm crap at DIY too but I practiced painting at my old (rented) house and now I'm not too bad at it!
