Howdens Burford paintable

We were more or less decided on the Howdens Fairford in navy - but I see that there is now a 'paintable' option on the Burford kitchen.

I don't know quite how new this is but would be interested if anyone has gone for this option, or had a quote?

We would also appreciate any feedback. We are hoping to get this kitchen and have a Howdens designer/rep coming on Thursday.

Update - I asked the Howdens designer about it when we met last week.

He said that the paintable Burford is made with the same foil-wrapped finish as the coloured doors, and can be painted using specific oil-based paints. Because of this he said that the price is the same as for the other Burford door options, although I haven't seen an exact quote. Factoring in the cost of paint and labour, therefore, he seemed to think that the paintable would be a slightly more expensive option.

I asked if that therefore meant that any of those doors could theoretically be painted and he said yes, as long as they were properly prepped and primed and the appropriate paint was used.

Sorry for resurrecting an old post - just wondered if any of you went for the paintable one and if you had any reviews or news on how the finish was?
