Kitchen worktop help

We are planning our new kitchen (building work starts next month) and am I am a bit torn over work top decisions.

We are having the diy Norton in lamproom grey www.diy-kitchens.com/kitchens/norton-lamp-room-grey/details/ with an alabaster porcelain floor
www.floorsofstone.com/our-tile-range/porcelain-tiles/alabaster-porcelain

I am torn on whether to go for a white quartz worktop or a black granite one. I love Nero Assoluto and dislike anything with a sparkle or bits in, so am looking for something with a uniform colour.

The room will be very light (south facing with quite a lot of glass), but I am having last minute doubts about the black granite .... any thoughts?

I personally prefer a lighter worktop!

We're having Linwood in lamproom grey and are going for a lighter worktop.

Have you considered Corian?

Thanks for your comments. I think I have decided to go for the black granite - your comments made me realise that was what I really wanted!!
I personally don't like Corian so granite or quartz are my preferred options.
