Marble window sill?

I was wondering if anyone had ordered / installed a marble window sill without doing countertops at the same time? Looking for an idea of cost and/or company recommendations.

marble is not very durable. Is attacked by acids, and stains easily.

Kitchen cleaners and lemon juice dissolve it, because it's the same material as limescale.

you will be best off ringing around and seeing if a local has off cuts.
we have quartz sills, marble is fine for sills as long as not used for cups glasses without coasters for the reason above but still it woludnt be that much of a problem

I got a quartz cill added after we had the worktop installed. They just used an offcut. £40 for them to cut to size, we got the builder to fit. Looks really good, wish I had thought to get another one done. Works especially well when you are near a sink.

Thanks guys. It is near a sink so maybe quartz is the way to go, although I don’t mind a bit of patina!
