Built in ovens

Does anyone know how long the cables that come with built in ovens (with a plug attached) are? Looking to find out if I could use existing sockets to cover two tall units to the immediate left, so the cable would need to stretch over 80cm/1m.

Just. Depends on the brand. Our previous one was just under 1m but has been cut to have a plug attached (was originally a cable for attaching to a junction box). Our current one is shorter.

My Neff Single oven has a 120cm cable length. All product details on their website.

not all ovens can be plugged into 13 amp socket. only the low rated ones. otherwise need to be wired knta cooker point

I'd be surprised if you got a built in oven with a plug - they normally need to be wired into a point with a higher rating than 13A.

If you go to Markes Electrical, you can filter search results to show ovens that work on a 13amp plug. I am sure you could enquire about the cable length of any ovens that you fancy.

An electrician can fit a flex of any length you desire. The installation instructs will specify what type. It will usually be a heat-resistant grade.

Single ovens designed for the UK market can usually run off a 13Amp plug. Double ovens, and those with a separate oven and grill, need a dedicated cooker circuit.

Some single ovens designed for primitive countries that lack our wonderful 13Amp socket may need a dedicated circuit, for example if they are rated at 16Amps.

Electric hobs (almost) invariably need a dedicated circuit, as do electric cookers.
