What is wrong with my oven?

We have a double electric oven, one on top of each other. They're both Bosch, they were here when we moved in 7 years ago. The top oven is working fine. The bottom oven just won't heat up. It is turned on at the wall (!), and when you turn it on, you hear the little click, but the oven just doesn't heat up.

Is it the element? Ours went a few weeks ago... light was on and oven making right noise but no heat. Changed the element and back to normal

That sounds similar, so it may well be. I think I will need to get someone locally to take a look.

Or has a timer been set that hasn't been cancelled? our old oven used to do that if you made sure the timer wasn't on then the oven turned on

I am so embarrassed. The clock hadn't been reset after the boiler engineer tripped the circuit last week. The oven engineer came in, set the clock and the oven turned on. He refused to charge for the visit, even a call out fee. He was a very nice man.
