Where should the kitchen go?

We have always planned to turn the sunroom and part of the dining room into our childs downstairs bedroom and shower room, but I keep thinking about turning the current kitchen into that room instead. We would block up the current back door and open the old one back up again (its in where the downstairs loo is currently).
We could then put the kitchen into the dining room and sunroom space, so a large L-shaped one. We do want to put on a conservatory off the kitchen as the dining room.
The utility on the side will be extended to the full length of the house, and the spare fridge and freezer along with washing machine and tumble drier will be in there amongst other things.
What do you think to this idea? Could it work? What about all the work involved in moving the kitchen, bearing in mind where we could move it to was the original kitchen anyway, and we are pretty sure all the old pipe work is still there. The stop tap is in the dining room where the sink would have been.
