Party Wall

I live in a ground floor flat. The people in the flat above me are about to do fairly extensive work including a loft conversion and relocating the kitchen. We have drawn up a ‘licence to carry out works’ but I wonder if I should be doing anything else before the work starts? Would it count as party wall if they are upstairs from me? Should I have proof of the state of my flat before they start so I can prove damage if it happens due to the works?

I don't think a kitchen refurb would merit a party wall agreement - probably cost more than the kitchen! If putting steel beams into a wall that's shared then possibly yes. Get in touch with a party wall surveyor and ask? Best bet is to seek advice from an expert.Try googling RICS party wall, there are also group forum's with lots of Q&A's. I've used tksurveyinggroup twice for party wall and they know they're stuff, I'm sure they offer free advice.
