Toilet gurgling when drain sink

Has anyone had any experience of this? It just started tonight. When I drain the kitchen sink the downstairs loo starts to gurgle but stop once sink is drained. Any ideas?

Is the water level in the toilet bowl lower than usual?

Blocked drains - you need to get someone in to clear them. Or do as we did when it was a recurring problem (3 houses fed into the main drain in our garden and god knows what they were trying to flush) and buy some rods. It's not pleasant but weirdly satisfying.

Definitely blocked drain that needs ridding then.
