Hello! Any idea on the fees we should expect to pay for a loft conversion (with large dormer) and a side extension (removal of wall, 1xbrick wall, 2x bifold walls and a lantern roof?

I can't help with the loft conversion but we paid about £350 both times for side return extensions. That's definitely at the low end of things. I had a quote of about £2k too.

That's more the price I was thinking- add a zero to the first quote I had 😯

Thank you

As a surveyor, I usually recommend calculating it as 1-2% of the work value that you are carrying out with your engineer.

Happy to answer in more detail and look at your quotation on my Facebook Group: www.facebook.com/groups/homerenovationcommunity

Depends if they are just designing the beams in a case it depends how many really, or whether they are inputting into the overall design with the architect. The former you might pay per beam but for general design we paid about 3% I think it was

Thank you. Makes a lot of sense and it's good to know.
