Anyone filled in a Velux window?

Just wondering if this can be done.

A house we are looking at has a velux over the bed, I can't stand the noise or light from them, I'm a very light sleeper,
The room is bright enough without it so I was wondering if it's possible/how much it would be to take it out and make good the roof?
I've googled but not had any luck.

Cant you just get a velux black out blind?

If there are no other windows, how would you air the room?

I hate the sound of rain on velux windows - so understand your pain. A very cheap simple idea might be to leave it it in place (so looks the same externally) but cover with plasterboard inside, filling the gap with a sound proofing material - see if this would stop the noise - then just re-plaster over with the rest of the ceiling - would save all the drama of removing it and employing a roofer - if it doesnt cut the noise you might then need to do this.

This is how to make one - so you could do it in reverse..?

Aha plaster boarding inside could work, I'll have a google for that - thanks.

There's another 2 normal windows in the room so it's defo not needed 👍🏻
