What will happen with our move tomorrow - Snow!

We are due to move tomorrow - does anyone know what happens if a removal company can't get to you because of the road conditions? Currently the road that the removal company need to come from is impassable. I just wondered if anyone has had this happen to them and if so how it was dealt with? I am a bit concerned that we may have to pay again?

Read the Ts and Cs of the contract as a starting point.

Work in EA - we had a problem like this during the previous snowfall when one part of the chain removals cancelled on the day. It was quite a long chain but luckily the top of the chain house was empty and solicitors were able to get everyone to agree to let those that could move in on the agreed date with monies actually changing hands 3 days later (weekend in the way as well). Hope it works out for you tomorrow.

Do the Ts and Cs state anything about an act of God or force majeure? Do they state anything about the liability of the removal company if they can't get to you as planned? I'm thinking about other parts of the contract that could apply if there is nothing specific about weather. I can't think you as the customer could possibly be liable and have to pay twice, etc if the removal firm can't physically get to you, that would be absurd unless you were barring them entry, which you are not. What about insurance?

Are you buying a house and that's why you are moving? If so speak to your solicitor first thing tomorrow morning if it looks as though you can't move out.

Thank you yes we are moving and in a small chain, our house is a new build and our buyer is coming from rented.

No could t see anything about force majeure which I thought was odd? Nor act of god.

Anyway I think the roads have improved slightly and we have cleared our drive and a good space outside and people ha e been going up and down our lane so that part is passable
